St Xaviers School Nevta

Dawn of a New ‘MAGIS’

The chronicles behind the existence of Xavier Institution in Jaipur can be traced back to the year 1941 with the foundation of ‘St. Mary’s Boy’s School’ which was later rechristened as St. Xavier’s School, C-Scheme in 1943. Nurturing and cherishing the dreams of many, the school today stands as a testimony in the sands of times, rendering quality education embedded in values, social concerns and competence to the people of Rajasthan. 75 years of unparalleled service to humanity and a humble mission to carry forth the service gave birth to another revolution in the field of Education i.e. St. Xavier’s, Nevta.

The trailblazers, Fr. Varkey Parekkatt SJ, Fr. John Ravi SJ, Fr. Glenn Menezes SJ and Br. Gyan SJ, took it upon themselves to emplace an academy complex, which will include a school, professional colleges and would reach out to a wider clientele in a larger space. Fr. Varkey Parekkatt SJ, set the wheel in motion with eventually Jaipur Xavier’s Educational Association acquiring 30 acres of land on 20th October, 2011.

The dream had finally seen the light of day. To take the first step, the ground breaking ceremony was held on 7th December, 2011 and the work commenced on the acquired land. As time passed an enormous edifice slowly rose. The humongous responsibility of designing and construction was shouldered by our architect Mr. Kiran Mahajan and contractor Mr. Chandra Singh. To blend the aura with the shades of green, a plantation drive was organized on 28th April, 2012 which was graced by former Minister for Higher Education, Mr. Jitendra Singh.

The great monument would not have been possible without the contribution of different individuals who had put their heart and soul and have tirelessly worked to make this dream come true. The school is indebted to Fr. John Ravi SJ for his co-ordination with officials to get the much needed permissions and clearances. Br. Gyan who has supervised the work, day in and day out, even in inclement weather, along with his supervisor Mr. Vijay Kumar Soni, will always be acknowledged for their dedication and commitment. Fr. Glenn Menezes SJ shall be remembered for his vision, improvising on the constructional plans and for having contributed to the aesthetics of the building. The school also places on record its gratitude to Xavier Alumini, C-Scheme School, parents and well-wishers who have contributed to this epitome of knowledge in varied ways.

To embark on the voyage of education, an administrative team was formed consisting of Fr.Glenn Menezes, SJ (Rector), Fr. John Ravi, SJ (Principal), Br. Gyan, SJ (Administrator), Mr. C. K Punnose (Headmaster) and Mrs. Renu Agarwal (Teacher Co-ordinator) who looked into the admission process, staff recruitment and the administration of the new setup. The dexterity, sincerity, innovativeness and dedication of the team members added jewels to the school’s crown.

The school was inaugurated on 6th April, 2015 with 1200 children on roll for classes I-V. The overwhelming response to the admissions was a clear indication of the utmost trust established by the people on the Jesuit community and the school marked its presence in the city with students coming from all parts of the town. The forlorn corridors came alive with the laughter of beaming kids and a vibrant young faculty. The expansive school campus witnessed the sound of triumph and zeal with numerous activities conducted for the all-round development of the fervent learners.

The quality education imparted, together with the values and ethos nurtured in the students in the very first year of its commencement, made the school one of the most sought out educational institutes of the town. Consequently, the school upgraded to class VIII in April,2016 with around 2000 students on roll. It has truly been a significant achievement, to have accomplished this dream within such a short span of time. There was no looking back, the school grew steadily setting up unparalleled standards in education, imparted in an exemplary and disciplined ambience. Further in the year 2019 St. Xavier’s, Nevta was upgraded to a Senior Secondary School. At present the school caters to the needs of over 3300 students and accompanies each Xavierite to not just being a WINNER but also a contributing member towards the well-being of our society.

May this contribution made for the children of Jaipur, prepare students for a better future and take our country to greater heights. Kudos to the Jesuit team for their ardent zeal and unstinting support which has and will alter the lives of many. May each student, be a fire that kindles other fires.
